A new UX product for family history lovers.

Findmypast is an ancestry platform that lets users dive into their family history. But to outperform its competitors, the company wanted to make its product both more immersive and easier to use.

I was duly hired to work with the development team to improve the UX, raise engagement rates, and add more historical context to each user’s family history.

Key results

  • Platform engagement raised by 6%

  • Set up a new user testing system and saw increase in site visitors.

  • Added a distinctive new USP to FMP’s platform: contextual, immersive stories to keep users onsite.

An example of a “contextual story” linked to a user’s family ancestor.

Our new UI product has transformed our engagement metrics, and Henry’s precise copy has been instrumental in achieving that.
